Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell hails New Balance as club prepares Adidas move

Celtic have thanked kit supplier New Balance after agreeing a deal with German sportswear company Adidas for next season.

The deal is believed to be the biggest in Scottish football history, as the Premiership leaders join the likes of Manchester United , Juventus and Bayern Munich.

Chief executive Peter Lawwell said: "I would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to New Balance for the fantastic support they have given to Celtic over the past five years.”

“New Balance is such a high quality international organisation with fantastic staff and they have been a wonderful long term partner to the club.”

“We have worked together on some great commercial projects during this period and New Balance have also been a huge supporter of the club’s wider social ethos and charitable dimension.  We are hugely grateful to the organisation for such passionate support.”

“On behalf of everyone at the club, I wish New Balance every success for the future.”

The current deal will end on July 1 2020.

New Balance's Kenny McCallum said: "It has been an incredible partnership over the last 5 years with Celtic Football Club over a time which the club has experienced continued success whilst wearing New Balance".

"We’re certain there will be more historic moments at Celtic Park and would like to wish the club all the success for the future."
