Celtic chief executive Michael Nicholson has been elected to the SPFL board for the 2026/27 season.
All 42 clubs voted on seven representatives ahead of the new campaign, with Nicholson selected to replace former Rangers CEO Patrick Stewart, who was dismissed last November by the Ibrox club.

Nicholson will be joined on the SPFL board by Hibernian’s Malcolm McPherson and Kilmarnock’s Phyllis Carroll.
Clubs also approved rule changes, including minimum machinery and staffing standards for Premiership pitches to improve natural and hybrid surfaces.
Kilmarnock have already replaced their artificial pitch with a hybrid surface following the ban on astroturf, which is due to kick in this season.
Further amendments were agreed to streamline SPFL Compensation Tribunals and adjust restrictions on clubs operating under registration embargoes.
