Tributes have poured in for Celtic icon Bertie Auld after the former Hamilton manager's death was announced.
Passing aged 83, the well-liked figure has legendary status at Parkhead after two spells at the club, most notably winning the European Cup and becoming a Lisbon Lion in 1967.
Auld - from Strathaven - cut his teeth in management with Hibs, Hamilton, Partick Thistle and Dumbarton.
He was a regular on matchdays at Celtic Park most recently and helped the Parkhead side with an array or projects.
The Lisbon Lion was diagnosed with dementia earlier this year.
Celtic chairman Ian Bankier said: “The most sincere thoughts and prayers of everyone at Celtic are with Bertie’s family at such a difficult time, following this tragic loss.
“I don’t think words can ever adequately describe what Bertie meant to the Club and our supporters. He was a giant of a player, a giant of a man and quite simply Mr. Celtic.

“He scaled the greatest of heights as a player with his talent but it is who he was as a man that made him so much more to us all.
"He enriched all our lives so greatly with his humour, his character and personality and for that we will forever be grateful."
Accies have also paid their respects: "Everyone at the club is saddened to learn the news of the passing of former manager Bertie Auld. The thoughts and prayers of everyone here is with the friends and family of Bertie."
Former Hoops striker Chris Sutton has hailed someone he respected highly: "Devastating news to hear that Bertie Auld has passed away. Bertie was a real legend, a lion and an absolute gentleman."
Hibs added to the tributes: "We are saddened to learn of the passing of former Hibs player and manager, Bertie Auld, at the age of 83. A brilliant man with a huge personality.
