Celtic captain Scott Brown's Aberdeen role detailed as Stephen Glass makes 'very good coach' claim

Stephen Glass insists Scott Brown joining Aberdeen is proof of how big the club is.

The Celtic skipper will move to Pittodrie this summer and Glass is thrilled that he has managed to get him up north after 14 years at Celtic Park.

And he reckons the potential to move into a coaching role at the Dons played a big part in persuading Brown to swap Glasgow for Aberdeen.

Brown has been doing coaching in the background in recent years and has been doing his coaching badges with his aim to move into a role like that in the future.

The opportunity to combine coaching with playing was attractive enough to get him and Glass is delighted he could get him, but insists his focus is still on playing.

He said: "Scott Brown coming to join us is huge. The fact that he wants to come shows me how big this club is.

"Scott has done his bits and pieces and is very close to finishing his A Licence. If people are not in the spotlight coaching, people think they are not coaching.

"That has almost happened with myself a wee bit. However, Scott is doing his hours coaching. He is maybe concentrating more on the football side now, because he knows what’s coming.

"As you get further on in your career, you have to focus on the playing side. However, it is important that people are not pigeonholing him into something that he is not.

"Scott is going to be a very, very good coach. He is probably a good coach already, I need to see it first hand, but I know what we are getting."
