Kieran Tierney’s former Celtic captain Scott Brown has backed the young defender to show he can be a “top quality player” for Arsenal.
The 22-year-old joined the Gunners in the summer in a £25million move from the Scottish champions, but has had to remain patient for his opportunity at the Emirates Stadium.
Tierney caught the eye of the Gunners after coming through the ranks at Celtic before going on to make over 100 appearances for the Glasgow club.
Having made the move to North London earlier this year, he had to wait for his chance to break into Unai Emery’s side.
He made his debut for the club in the EFL Cup win over Nottingham Forest in September, before making his league bow in the 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace last month.
Tierney has made seven appearances in total for Arsenal so far, although he was left on the bench for the Gunners’ most recent outing as they were beaten 2-0 at Leicester.
But his former captain Brown has backed the Scottish international to find his feet at Arsenal – and establish himself in the Premier League this season.
"He's a fantastic full-back. He's got every single thing you could ask for,” Brown told talkSPORT.
"He's got pace, he’s got strength, he’s got that willingness to win as well, and I think that's the drive inside him as well that wants that.

"He had it at Celtic, he showed his qualities, and that’s why Arsenal wanted him.
"For me, it was sad to see him go because he’s a great player and also a great friend as well.
"But, it was the right time.
"He will kick on, he’ll show everyone what a top quality player he is over the next six months."
