Celtic captain Scott Brown avoids SFA ban for stamp as Duckens Nazon is cited for elbow

St Mirren striker Duckens Nazon faces a ban for allegedly elbowing Celtic's Kristoffer Ajer but Scott Brown has avoided action following a different incident in Wednesday's game between the two clubs.

Nazon caught Ajer with his arm off the ball during his team's 2-0 defeat by the Ladbrokes Premiership leaders and has been accused of violent conduct by the Scottish Football Association compliance officer.

The forward faces a two-match ban but will be free to play against Hamilton on Saturday with a hearing pencilled in for Tuesday.

Brown stood on James Kellerman's stomach after a midfield challenge but manager Neil Lennon claimed it was accidental and there was no action against the Celtic captain before the fast-track deadline.

Speaking after Wednesday night's game, Lennon said: "The Brownie one is totally accidental, it’s not deliberate at all. It’s not like he has raised his foot. It’s just on the follow-through from the tackle.

"As for the elbow, it might be a bit different. But I’m not refereeing. I’m not judge and jury so I’ll let other people decide."
