Celtic captain Scott Brown and the side that doesn't get shown

Hoops' legendary hard man Scott Brown has shown his softer side after a bruising month in the spotlight.

The Celtic mainstay was the victim of vile abuse outside Ibrox after the season's first Old Firm derby that referenced his late sister.

The midfielder showed his class soon after though when he visited Hoops fan Reece Donnelly's father, who is recovering from illness.

And Reece praised Brown for taking the time to visit him despite the recent abuse.

He posted on Twitter: "After the week he had, especially with that video, to take the time and come and visit my dad who he doesn't know, shows the character of the man."

And Celtic fans were quick to praise Brown's efforts too.

@chuckbelly wrote: "A magnificent gesture by Scott, and one which your dad loved and appreciated mate. Two legends together."

@phdemd posted: "Captain, legend, leader, gentleman"

@IconicMartial9 added: "You said it correct, Legend.

Brown has shown his softer side already this year.

He signed a painting of his now infamous clash with Rangers winger Ryan Kent to raise money for a charity football match held in memory of Gers fan Gordon Thomson.
