Celtic captain McGregor has hospitality suite in raptures after cheeky Rangers dig

Celtic captain Callum McGregor has fired a cheeky dig at Rangers, claiming the Ibrox side "had not played anyone" before their 2-1 defeat at Parkhead.

Goals from Paulo Bernardo and Kyogo Furuhashi sealed the win for Brendan Rodgers' men as the Hoops extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to eight points.

And while McGregor admitted Philippe Clement's side team had been on a good run prior to the match, he felt the Hoops showed their difference in class.

Speaking in one of the hospitality suites after the game, he said: "The boys were outstanding. We spoke before the game about bringing that intensity as when we play against them [Rangers] they do not deal with that intensity.

"When you get after them you can press them and make them kick it out of the pitch and they will start to unravel.

"They have been in a good spell but they had not played anyone yet so that intensity allowed us to answer some of our critics.

"All I can ask of the boys is that they go out there and give everything and I think they did that today.

"There were bits of quality for the goals, Bernardo's goal was top class, but in terms of the running and work ethic of the team, the pressing was first class."
