Celtic Boys' Club coach accused of sexually abusing boy by rubbing oil on player's genitals

A fifth football coach has been accused of child sex abuse at Celtic Boys' Club , it has emerged.

Lyness Malley, a former coach and official at the feeder club, is alleged to have abused a young player by rubbing oil on a boy on a number of occasions in 1969 and 1970.

It's claimed the incidents took place in the changing rooms at the Barrowfield training ground, close to Celtic Park .

During the multiple incidents the 81-year-old is alleged to have touched the boy's genitals and buttocks.

Malley denies the claims saying they are malicious and motivated by a desire for revenge after he dropped his accuser from his squad.

He did admit he regularly massaged the thighs of his players with oil but said there was no sexual motivation behind it.

The accusations against Malley come after four men associated with Celtic Boys' Club were found guilty of child sex abuse.

Frank Cairney, 84, was caged for four years after he was convicted of nine charges of abusing young footballers.

His sentence has been reduced after he was cleared of a sex attack on a teenage boy because of a failure to reveal the victim's crimes of dishonesty ahead of his trial.

Ex-coaches Jim McCafferty, 73, and beast Jim Torbett, 71, were both jailed for sex abuse.

While Gerald King, a former chairman at the club, was guilty of abusing four boys and a girl however he dodged jail.
