Celtic boss Neil Lennon silences haters by beating team at bottom of league

Neil Lennon has put the haters firmly in their place by masterminding a 3-0 win at home against bottom of the league Motherwell.

Fans have completely forgotten about the midweek defeat to Ferencvaros that saw Celtic eliminated from the Champions League in the second qualifying round.

Some cynics, who presumably weren't around in the '90s, took issue with Lennon's decision to field the same side for today's match.

"No strikers? WTF" remarked some ungrateful young fans, many of whom weren't even born when Paul McStay's penalty was saved against Raith Rovers in 1993.

They were noticeably quieter at half-time, when a heroic Celtic side went in 1-0 up against 12th-placed Motherwell thanks to a James Forrest goal.

These so-called 'fans' got their wish at half-time when Celtic threw on a striker, and again after 71 minutes when he brought on another.

They'll probably say something like 'Celtic looked more dangerous, purposeful and effective when they played two strikers'. They might even point to the fact that one of them scored just five minutes after coming on.

It's all very well for these hipsters with their 'logic', 'knowledge', 'evidence' and tweets that don't contain nine trophy emojis, but what have they ever done for the club?

Aside from renewing season tickets, buying strips and following their team home and away, what have they ever done for the club?

When will they realise that the only way to support Celtic is to unquestionably defend every decision made by Proper Celtic Men?

Probably about the time they realise that guys like Odsonne Edouard don't care about the Champions League and are only here for 10-in-a-row.

Celtic (champions) THREE. Motherwell (one less point than Hamilton Accies having played a game more) NIL.

Take THAT, Lenny haters.
