Celtic boss Neil Lennon quizzed on Shane Duffy transfer interest

Celtic boss Neil Lennon stayed tight-lipped as he was quizzed over the club's interest in Ireland defender Shane Duffy.

Record Sport reports the club has held talks with Brighton defender and Derry native Duffy, who grew up supporting the Hoops.

Duffy also has interest from West Ham, West Brom, Burnley and Leeds.

And ahead of the Champions League qualifier with KR Reykjavik the Celtic manager was in no mood to discuss a potential deal.

Asked if there was any update on the defender, Lennon replied: "No.

"Look, guys, I keep repeating myself: I'm not going to talk about players until they're in the building.

"You get a rumour here, speculation there; about players going, players coming in.

"I'm not prepared to comment on any player who is affiliated with another club until they're sat next to me."

Lennon also confirmed there had been no resolution in disciplinary action against Boli Bolingoli as he repeated his frustration with the left-back.

He said: "Disappointed for the club. I think we have been at the forefront of getting the game up and running.

"All the procedures, all the protocols, and it is down to the actions of one individual really.

"But we will hold our hands up, if we are accountable, we will have to accept that, take it and move on.

"What we don't want is the game to shut down again or any sort of mishaps, if you want to call it that.

"Two clubs, Aberdeen and ourselves, embroiled in this.

"I think it is unfortunate from my point of view as a manager, the majority of the players here and the staff and people at the club have worked really hard, tirelessly, so we will try to set the highest standards we can."
