Celtic better at seeing out games than Barcelona, Manchester City and Real Madrid according to new study

Celtic are better at seeing off teams than Barcelona, Man City, Ajax, Juventus, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich according to a new worldwide study.

The findings, released today by CIES Football Observatory, show that the Hoops have went on to win 88.6% of their domestic games in the past five years are scoring the first goal.

The stats, which looked at league matches between January of 2015 and December of 2019, show that Celtic won an incredible 132 of the 149 games they played in the Scottish Premiership where they struck first.

And it sees the Parkhead side take 29th place in world football in being able to pick up a win adfter scoring the first goal in a domestic game, ahead of Barcelona in 30th place.

While below Celtic in the worldwide table are some of the world's biggest teams such as Man City, Ajax, Man Utd, Juventus, Napoli, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Boca Juniors.

Aberdeen are next best Scottish team on the list with a ratio of 85% of games on after scoring first, while Rangers have a ratio of 81% of games won in domestic competition.
