Celtic made a David Beckham comparison as their star David Turnbull marked his 50th Hoops appearance with a sublime strike in their 3-0 Premier Sports Cup quarter-final win over Raith Rovers last night.
Turnbull sent a curling strike from 25 yards ripping into the net in 47 minutes, adding to strikes from Jota and Liel Abada as Celtic cruised to a comfortable win, before the visitors were reduced to 10 men when Dario Zanatta saw red just before the hour-mark.
In a reference to the movie 'Bend It Like Beckham', Celtic marked the occasion on social media by saying: "Bend it like Turnbull.
"A wonderful way to mark your 50th Hoops appearance, David Turnbull! #PremierSportsCup #COYBIG."
That was a sixth goal of the season for the former Motherwell hero, who feels that he's making proper strides towards being a mainstay in the Celtic team.

Ahead of the game, he said: "It’s funny, because last year everybody around me in the team had played more games. Most of the players had experienced more at Celtic.
"But going into this season it’s changed a lot. There have been a lot of new signings.
"I think they’ve settled well, but it’s still been about helping them.
"I think they all know what it means to play for a club like this. It’s just about getting everyone believing and trying to do big things."
Celtic will play against Premier Sports Cup-holders St Johnstone at Hampden in their semi-final on the weekend of November 20/21, while Rangers clash with Hibs in the other match.
