Celtic beat Hibs as Leigh Griffiths returns to action in friendly

Leigh Griffiths returned to action this afternoon as Celtic defeated his former club Hibs.

It finished 3-1 at Celtic Park as Neil Lennon's men played their second friendly at the stadium in the space of 24 hours.

Celtic's lineup was completely different from the one which beat Ross County 2-0 on Sunday, with Olivier Ntcham taking over the captaincy from Scott Brown this afternoon.

The French midfielder was joined in the side by the likes of Patryk Klimala and Karamoko Dembele as they took on Jack Ross' team.

Youngster Scott Robertson hit the side-netting after playing being played through by Ntcham on 13 minutes, but was the visitors who scored the game's first goal a minute later thanks to a Josh Doig volley.

Ntcham was the provider again when Celtic equalised, with Karamoko finishing into the bottom corner.

Griffiths came off the bench after 59 minutes, and made an impact late on when he chipped the keeper. It was Klimala who got the final touch, however, putting Celtic 2-1 up.

The Polish striker doubled his tally with eight minutes remaining, with his header sealing a 3-1 victory for Celtic.

Lennon's side return to competitive action on Sunday as they start their Premiership campaign at Celtic Park against Hamilton Accies.
