Celtic asked Hibs eight times to move post-Dubai fixture as TV host slams Hoops for 'riding roughshod'

Hibs were asked EIGHT times by Celtic to move their Scottish Premiership meeting so that The Hoops could go to Dubai.

That’s according to TV presenter and Hibs TV host David Tanner, who accused the Glasgow club of “riding roughshod” over due process.

The fixture was originally scheduled for Saturday 9 January, but after having their numerous requests rejected by their opponents, Celtic went to the SPFL and the game was moved.

Despite taking the lead through a late David Turnbull free-kick, the hosts were denied the three points in stoppage time after Kevin Nisbet levelled for Jack Ross’ men.

Tanner’s revelation comes in the wake of Neil Lennon's astonishing press conference, in which he refused to apologise to anyone but his club’s fans, claimed there was an agenda against Celtic and that making their players isolate for ten days was “political”.

“They were supposed to play last Saturday against Hibernian but the game was moved to the Monday,” Tanner told TalkSport.

They rode roughshod over due process, Celtic, because they asked Hibernian eight times to move that game to Monday night to enable them to go to Dubai.

“Eight times, Hibernian said no.

“So Celtic went to the SPFL, who invoked a rule that many hadn’t heard of, although they should have heard of it in fairness. And they moved the game.

“Hibernian were furious about that.”
