Celtic are bigger than Rangers says Jamie O'Hara as he rekindles debate

Jamie O'Hara has taken another dig at Rangers as the debate sparked by his comments about the Ibrox club is rekindled.

The Billericay Town boss claimed earlier this month that Bournemouth were "a higher profile football team" than Rangers amid speculation linking Steven Gerrard with the Canaries. He also called managing Bournemouth "a bigger job".

His comments were criticised by the likes of Harry Redknapp and Neil Warnock, with Rangers legend Ally McCoist calling them "stupid".

O'Hara is at it again, however, telling talkSPORT listeners: "I angered Ally McCoist and even Sir Rod Stewart. It raised a few eyebrows that’s for sure.

"Laura (Woods) sucked Ally in with a ‘who’s the bigger club shout’ and he started throwing out all these ridiculous shouts of Rangers - Chelsea, Rangers - Arsenal, he said Rangers were bigger than Juve, Milan, and I couldn’t believe what he was coming out with.

"I phoned up and had to hammer him."

Host Alan Brazil was unimpressed, saying: "Who has got the biggest following? In terms of supporters Rod Stewart is correct, wherever you go in the world there will be a Celtic and Rangers supporters club."

O'Hara responded: "Celtic are bigger though, right?

"Listen, with the greatest respect to Rangers I said bigger but I meant better, it was silly of me to say Rangers weren’t as big as Bournemouth because obviously I said the wrong word.

"At the moment I think it’s the better job because Celtic will win the league but it’s all up for debate isn’t it."
