Celtic are better than Rangers and will easily dethrone the freak training game champions - Hotline

An Old Firm battle which was full of friendly fire in a tame draw but Scott Brown took the plaudits for embracing Glen Kamara before a ball was kicked.

Alfredo Morelos also earned praise for breaking his Old Firm duck in a Hotline which did contain more than a few rival digs.

Alan McGaw, Alloa, said: "I was happy with our result and that Rangers remain unbeaten. How ironic was it Morelos scored his 55th goal in our 55th title winning season. On a good note, well done to Brown for going over to Kamara and giving him his support."

Craig Harris, Glasgow, said: "It was a touch of class by Brown by showing his support for Kamara and that there is no place for racism in football. The game may not have carried that same intensity and a draw was a fair result."

George Wilson, West Sussex, said: "I'm just reminding Hotline regular Gordon Ashley that he told us three or four times a week up until recently that Celtic would win 10 In A Row and that Morelos is rubbish and will only fetch around £5m because he can't score against Celtic.

"He is a laughing stock amongst Rangers supporters with his ridiculous comments but at least he has helped us through the pandemic with his nonsense. Hopefully we play at home to Celtic in the last game of the season and get presented with the title in front of them in front of a few supporters at Ibrox.

"They couldn't beat us even when we were not at our best."

Gordon Ashley, Ayr, said: "It's so clear from the last two Old Firm games that Celtic are comfortably the better footballing team with Rangers unable to trouble us from open play, they only ever create from set pieces against us. Once a new manager has been sorted out and fans are back in stadiums we will easily dethrone this freak training game title."

Tommy Campbell, Burnside, said: "There's not been a single penalty awarded against Rangers this season in Scotland when there were plenty of stonewallers due to the opposing teams. If the Slavia Prague game was in the SPFL then Kemar Roofe would have stayed on the park and that challenge would have gone unpunished until the video reviewed it afterwards."

Freddie Wood, Prestonpans, said: "It is over 30 years since a team outwith the Old Firm won the Scottish Premiership and Celtic and Rangers have both in recent times refused to provide a guard for each other, like kids in the playground. Guards of honour should be scrapped as it only serves to satisfy their overstretched egos."

Robert Robertson, Barnsley, said: "Michael Stewart should keep his opinions to himself if he has nothing constructive to say. Playing Devil's advocate in this case is nothing short of criminal and only undermines Glen Kamara's case against Ondrej Kudela.

"I totally agree with Rio Ferdinand's view that it puts a seed of doubt in people who belong to the flat earth society, less receptive to the blinding truth shall we say."

Frank McFerran, Carrickfergus, said: "Who in their right mind would whisper 'you’re an effing guy'?

"No one would use that type of sentence, in my opinion. I believe Kudela made a racist remark and should be sanctioned."

Scott Kerr, Knightswood, said: "Whether the Slavia player was racist or not it has no bearing on the result, Rangers were well gubbed and outclassed."

Ronnie Swan, Lochee, said: "It was so sad to hear of big Peter Lorimer passing away. I remember watching the 1974 World Cup qualifiers and the tournament in Germany and what a team that was, especially the lads from Leeds United. It was a proper glorious failure in Germany."

Gordon Ferguson, emailed: "It's very sad news hearing Lorimer has passed away. A true Scottish legend and a player I loved to watch at Hampden Park, what a shot he had. RIP Peter."
