'Celtic are always protected' Former Hibs man Jamie Insall in blast after Olivier Ntcham flashpoint

Former Hibs striker Jamie Insall has claimed "Celtic are always protected" after Olivier Ntcham avoided a red card from referee Kevin Clancy.

The French star appeared to push his palm into the face of Easter Road midfielder Josh Vela during the Scottish Premiership clash in Leith.

With the scores locked at 1-1, Celtic’s Ntcham reacted angrily to Vela catching him on his ankle.

The two players came together before the former Manchester City midfielder lifted his left hand and shoved it into his opponent’s face.

But Clancy, who was standing right next to the flashpoint, yellow-carded both Ntcham and Vela.

And Insall, who failed to make a single appearance for the Easter Road side before leaving after failing a drugs test, has claimed Celtic get special treatment from referees.

He posted on Twitter: "The problem with Scottish football is Celtic are always protected. If Hibs player did the same thing he would of been sent off!! Period."

It’s not the first time Insall has been on social media recently with a no-holds barred comment.

Following Hibs’ defeat to Hearts in the Edinburgh derby last week, the Connah’s Quay frontman had a pop at Paul Heckingbottom when he said: "He has to go end of."
