Celtic apologise to Kilmarnock after Boli Bolingoli plays following trip to Spain

Alex Dyer says Celtic have apologised to Kilmarnock after Boli Bolingoli played against them on Sunday despite having breached quarantine rules.

Bolingoli flew to Spain without informing Celtic, and failed to isolate upon returning to the country.

As a result, Celtic's upcoming matches against St Mirren and Aberdeen have been postponed, with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon condemning players who "seem incapable of living up to their responsibilities."

As reported by Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Dyer said: “I know they didn’t know (about his trip) because I know Neil (Lennon) and I know what he’s like as a human being.

"I know some of the staff there and they are good people. It’s a mistake and we have to move on."

Speaking at a press conference earlier today, Celtic boss Lennon said: “This is a rogue who has gone off tangent and has done something very very selfish. We have been completely oblivious to this.

"I’m absolutely livid. It’s a total betrayal of our trust.”

Bolingoli came on for the final three minutes as Kilmarnock held Celtic to a 1-1 draw in the Premiership.
