Celtic announce Copenhagen ticket prices and supporters aren't impressed

Celtic fans have hit out at their club after the ticket prices for the round of 32 clash with Copenhagen were announced.

Hoops season ticket holders will need to pay £37 for the chance to see their side in Europa League action in February, with concessions being charged £24 and kids under 13s are £20.

The price is £13 more than a single game in the group stage when packages were priced at £72 - £24 a game.

And that has left a lot of fans unimpressed, particularly because it's not a marquee European name that Celtic will be coming up against.

Although Copenhagen will pose a threat, a section of the Hoops fanbase reckon they lack the name value of Lazio this season, or Valencia and Inter Milan in recent campaigns.

Neil Lennon's men comfortably emerged from the group stage after missing out on Champions League qualification, earning plaudits along the way.

But now they've directed anger at the club's hierarchy for the price of tickets as they took to Twitter to share their disappointment.

@DouneLinda said: "Wow... that's pretty incredible pricing" and @87_Armstrong said: "you are the biggest lot a wind up merchants I've seen in my puff. 13 quid more to watch us play Copenhagen than it was Lazio."

@tstevens05 said: "Outrageous pricing! Shocking."

@patmanfarrell had a question and teased: "Does the price of £37 also include a ticket for the away leg?"

@JohnnyXIAR said: "Disgraceful pricing from the club" and @frankbell1981 said: "Don't usually complain about ticket prices but £37 is taking the p***"

@gazq87 said: "All the good work done with excellently priced tickets for the group stage has been blown out the water here, farcical to go from £24 in group stage to £37 now"

@gerarddoran67 said: "37 quid? That's shocking"
