Celtic and the mega money Tierney clause that could rake in millions amid £50m Pep Guardiola link

Celtic could be set to make high seven figures if Manchester City follows through in their interest of Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney.

The Scotland defender has been a standout for the Gunners since leaving Parkhead in 2019 for north London. Injuries have hampered his progress in spells south of the border but when fit, he has established himself as one of the best left-back's in Europe. When moving south in a £25 million deal from Celtic, the Hoops inserted a 15% sell-on clause into the deal.

That looks likely to prove a shrewd piece of business with The Telegraph reporting Pep Guardiola's side have him on their radar as a potential recruit for the left side of their defence. Renan Lodi is a target, as is Raphael Guerreiro, with the former Barcelona boss keen to bolster his rearguard for a title defence and Champions League trophy pursuit after coming close in recent seasons.

It is thought that Arsenal will want to command upwards of £50 million if they were to even consider selling their Scotsman.

Even at a minimum fee of £50m, Celtic would still stand to net around £7.5m from one of their academy products landing a huge Man City move.

Tierney emerged onto the scene at Parkhead in 2015 and won a host of Young Player of the Year awards during his Hoops stint, alongside eight major trophies.
