Celtic and Rangers transfer tussle for Tyrhys Dolan as both 'namechecked' in race for Blackburn star

Celtic and Rangers are both reportedly keen on highly-rated Tyrhys Dolan.

The England Under-20s star has serious interest both north and south of the border.

English Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest are another side namechecked by talkSPORT's Geoff Peters.

He reports that a transfer would cost Celtic and Rangers and any interested party a fee between £2-3million.

Dolan has two years to run on his current deal with the English Championship side.

He featured 36 times last season scoring five goals and notching three assists.

Speaking about the youngster last October, Tony Mowbray said: “Tyrhys plays in our team because he sets the tone of hard work.

“I don’t think he sits there and thinks he’s Lionel Messi, he runs and runs, closes, chases and gets his rewards.

“He’s undoubtedly got talent as he showed numerous times, scored a wonderful goal, got in behind them, second half quite a bit, the growth areas for Tyrhys Dolan are his final ball and delivery in the box.

“He got into some amazing positions but just needs to pick someone out for a side-foot finish and we win the game three or 4-0.

“I pick him almost every week because of the work he puts in, and that’s what we demand as the starting point, that everyone has to run, chase, fight, tackle, put your foot in, but as a striker he has to score goals and create chances and he’s doing that.”
