Celtic and Rangers pundit predictions as Alan Brazil makes urgent Neil Lennon plea

It's the game that everyone has an opinion on that isn't limited to punters with former players also invested in Saturday's showdown between Celtic and Rangers.

That's what this fixture does to those have played in front of fanatical fans as they go in search of victory in the derby unlike any other.

But the Premiership title tussle this time around will be played in front of an empty stadium as Neil Lennon and Steven Gerrard's side desperate for all three points.

The Ibrox boss is without new arrival Bongani Zungu and the Hoops have been hit with a host of covid-related setbacks with Odsonne Edouard a major doubt.

It will be an encounter packed with thrills and spills and here's what those who really know what the fixture is all about are predicting a Celtic vs Rangers clash for the ages.

Alan Brazil

"It's too close to call.

"If you're listening Lenny, don't play two wide players, fill up the midfield"

Kris Boyd

“I think Rangers will win.”

Scott Sinclair

(SNS Group)

“Celtic will win. They have great players who know what it takes. You can be sure that the likes of Scott Brown and Callum McGregor will have whoever starts the game well aware of how big it is.

"But players understand a game like this instinctively.”

Steven Pressley

“Performance wise there’s no doubt Rangers have looked the better team but results wise would indicate Celtic are also playing very well although some people would debate that. It makes for an interesting game.

“My honest opinion on this particular game - Celtic are missing a number of key players and Rangers might win this game at the weekend.”

Andy Walker

“I think there will be goals. I cannot separate them; they are both playing good football.”

Greg Docherty

"It's going to be a totally different derby experience.

'But it could end up being a really high-scoring affair, like a basketball game.

'From a Rangers point of view, when Celtic are attacking you'd usually face a huge roar coming at you with 50-odd thousand willing the ball into the net. 'You won't have that this time. Maybe on Saturday we'll see a lot more football played.

'In the games I played in you had to win your battles early on and I'm sure it will be the same this time."
