Celtic and Rangers leave Serbia wary of Scotland threat as legendary figure sounds play-off alarm bells

Serbian football legend Milovan Doric has warned his compatriots not to underestimate Scotland as he points to the European pedigree of Glasgow's big two.

Steve Clarke's side face a do-or-die Euro 2020 play-off in Belgrade next month after beating Israel at Hampden on Thursday.

And while the hosts are favourites Red Star legend Doric is wary of the threat Scotland will pose.

He said: "Scotland is much more of a football country than our semi-final opponents Norway.

"How many clubs in Norway have you heard of achieving anything in Europe?

"But Scotland have Celtic and Rangers in Europe every year and they win some important matches in the Champions League and the Europa League.

"Scottish football has a proud history and we can't go into this game thinking it is already won.

"We need to be very careful and take the threat of Scotland very seriously indeed. They will fight hard to qualify.

"But I think our manager is very good tactically and he has already said he will be studying Scotland closely. If we don't treat Scotland lightly, we can win the game and get to the Euros."
