Taylor, who has scored 36 goals in 67 games for Charlton, has been linked with a number of clubs.

Record Sport today reports that both Celtic and Rangers "held tentative talks" with representatives of Taylor earlier this summer, but that the former Partick Thistle and Falkirk man is also interesting the likes of Nottingham Forest, Swansea, West Brom, Burnley, Galatasaray and Sivasspor.

If Taylor arrives at Ibrox, he may not be lining up alongside Alfredo Morelos.

Italian website ITA Sport Press says Lazio, beaten twice by Celtic in this season's Europa League, are keen on the 24-year-old.

They say that Rangers value Morelos at £17.9m, with his record of 77 goals in 137 games since arriving in 2017 attracting the attention of numerous clubs.
