Lyon boss Rudi Garcia admits it's been a struggle to find good friendlies as he confirmed pre-season clashes against Celtic and Rangers in July.
Neil Lennon and Steven Gerrard have both been looking to take on quality opposition ahead of the return of the Premiership, with fixtures due to be announced on Monday.
And the Glasgow giants are set to play Lyon at their Groupama Stadium in a pre-season tournament, which also involves Nice.
The games will be on July 16 and 18, with Lyon set to confirm which Old Firm team they will face first soon.
Lyon played their first pre-season match this week in a 12-0 romp against Swiss sixth tier amateurs Port-Valais and Garcia revealed they are looking forward to stepping it up when the play the Old Firm.
He said: "It's not been easy to arrange preparation friendlies and we have opted for eight weeks to prepare for the new season.
"That will include a tournament at Groupama stadium against Rangers and Celtic, with Nice being the other team.
"The thinking behind this was it was necessary to find quality opponents in leagues that have not resumed.
"We need to prepare both for the start of the new season and the Champions League game against Juventus."
Celtic have also been lined up for a match against Paris Saint-Germain in the Parc des Princes on July 22.
