Celtic and Rangers fixtures moved for Betfred Cup Final have been rescheduled

Games involving Betfred Cup finalists Celtic and Rangers have been moved until January.

Celtic were due to take on St Johnstone while Rangers were to host Ross County on the weekend of the Final, but both will now take place after the winter break.

The Hoops will now travel to McDiarmid Park on Wednesday, January 29 with a 7.45pm kick-off. It will be shown live on BT Sport.

And it's the same date and time for Rangers vs Ross County at Ibrox. It means the Dingwall side will be in Glasgow twice in the space of four days with a match against Celtic the weekend before.

Steven Gerrard's side will have three home ties in the space of a week with games against Aberdeen on the Saturday and Hibs the following Wednesday.

The Ibrox club still have a fixture at home to St Johnstone to be rearranged with no date given yet for the match that was postponed due to the semi-final of the Betfred Cup.

Celtic's game from semi-final weekend against Hearts was rearranged for Wednesday, December 18 but Rangers couldn't host Saints on the same week because they travel to Easter Road to face Hibs on the Friday night.

That match means Neil Lennon's side have nine games in December – the same number as Rangers.
