Celtic and Rangers fixtures moved as Europa League clash spoils Steve Clarke Scotland plans

Celtic and Rangers fixtures scheduled for next Friday have been moved because of their involvement in the Europa League playoff round.

And it's a blow for Steve Clarke who hoped that all Scottish teams would play on the Friday night to ensure an extra bit of rest for his players before the Euro 2020 playoff tie against Israel.

Jon McLaughlin is the only Rangers player likely to be involved with Ryan Jack out injured but Ryan Christie, Callum McGregor and Greg Taylor could all feature, as well as James Forrest if he recovers from his knock picked up against Riga.

But both teams have seen their games moved to Sunday, October 4, with Celtic's game against St Johnstone still to be shown live on Sky Sports.

Neil Lennon's men will travel to McDiarmid Park for a midday kick-off as they look to continue their good start to the season.

Rangers host Ross County on the same day and that game will take place at 3pm on Sunday at Ibrox.

It's the last time both sides will play before they meet each other in the league on October 17 following the international break.
