Celtic and Rangers fixture changes as SPFL announce December reshuffle for Premiership fixtures

The SPFL has announced a fixture reshuffle for December to accommodate the teams involved in the semi-finals of the Premier Sports Cup.

Following this week's semi-finals Rangers will face Hibs in late November, while Celtic take on double winners St Johnstone.

The matches will be played on the 20th and 21st, meaning that Premiership fixtures have to be moved.

On Friday the SPFL announced the rearranged dates, with all four of the teams given midweek fixtures in December.

Hibs will host Dundee at Easter Road on Tuesday December 17 with a 7.45pm kick-off.

The following day sees Celtic travel north to face Ross County, with the same kick-off time for the Dingwall clash.

Fortunately for the schedulers, Rangers and St Johnstone are playing each other in that matchweek so they'll meet at Ibrox on December 18 at 7.45pm.

Steven Gerrard's side are Premiership champions but will be looking add at least one domestic cup to that this season.

Celtic, meanwhile, are coming off a trophyless season with Ange Postecoglou keen to make amends after his summer arrival.
