Celtic and Rangers fixture change as Europa League alters Scotland preparations

Celtic and Rangers fixtures for next weekend have been moved due to their commitments in the Europa League play-off round.

A full Premiership card was scheduled for the Friday night to give Scotland extra time to prepare for their Euro 2020 play-off with Israel.

Celtic are set to travel to Perth to take on St Johnstone, while Rangers will host Ross County at Ibrox.

But with both sides participating in the Europa play-off round on the Thursday night, both matches will now go ahead on the Sunday.

St Johnstone vs Celtic is a midday kick-off and will be shown live on Sky Sports, while Rangers vs Ross County will take place at 3pm.

Jon McLaughlin will likely be the only Rangers player called up for the Israel clash, but Celtic's Ryan Christie, Callum McGregor, Greg Taylor and James Forrest, who picked up an ankle knock against Riga, are expected to be involved.

Steve Clarke's preparations for the crucial tie with Israel will now be altered, but it's out of his hands as the Glasgow clubs aim to reach the Europa League group stage.

Celtic narrowly dispatched Latvian side Riga last night thanks to a late winner from Mohamed Elyounoussi, while Rangers dominated Willem II with an emphatic 4-0 victory.
