Celtic and Rangers discover time and date of fixture list announcement

A date has been confirmed for the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership fixture list announcement.

With the new season set to begin on August 1, sides will soon discover their schedule.

The top flight will include Dundee United this season, with Hearts dropping down to the Championship.

It has been confirmed by BBC Scotland that the fixtures will be announced at 9am on Monday July 6.

The last competitive Scottish match was played in March, with the shutdown leading to Celtic being crowned champions for the ninth successive season.

Neil Lennon's side will be aiming to fend off Rangers and win a historic 10-in-a-row, but he's been thwarted in his plans to sign Fraser Forster after the keeper opted to remain with Southampton.

Following the departure of Craig Gordon on Monday, Celtic are now left with just Scott Bain as a realistic first-choice.

Joe Hart and David Marshall are said to be among the potential signings, with a source telling Record Sport that negotiations had begun with Hart, saying: “There were talks last week with Hart’s people and there are further discussions planned to take place before the weekend.

"It has all been very positive so far but obviously a lot is going to depend on what Fraser’s situation is at Southampton."
