Celtic and Rangers credited with Isaac Price interest but 'look set to miss out' on Everton starlet

Celtic and Rangers look set to miss out on Everton starlet Isaac Price, according to a report.

The 19-year-old - who has believed to be interesting the Old Firm rivals - is set to depart Goodison Park and is in talks over a pre-contract move to Europe with Standard Liege. The Liverpool Echo claim both Ange Postecoglou and Michael Beale's side were among those clubs interested in the youngster, but he is set to test himself away from the UK.

The Northern Ireland international made his English Premier League debut against Arsenal last season and came up close and personal against the Hoops in November last year during the Sydney Super Cup with then boss Frank Lampard hailing the youngster as the best player on the pitch during that clash.

A move to Liege would see the midfielder hook up with former Celtic boss Ronny Deila.

Rangers boss Michael Beale has already revealed he wants at least FIVE new summer arrivals after his January captures of Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin. Big decisions are still to be made over the futures of the likes of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Ryan Jack and veteran stars such as Allan McGregor and Steven Davis.

A number of fringe men are also expected to depart the Light Blues while Celtic and Postecoglou have always looked to get their transfer business done nice and early.

12 points stand between the duo in the Premiership standings after Celtic came out on top in last week's five-goal thriller Old Firm showdown at Parkhead.
