Celtic’s clash with Rangers is expected to be given the go-ahead by Nicola Sturgeon after the stay at home message was sent to supporters.
There were fears the clash would be cancelled after Rangers fans gathered in numbers to celebrate winning the Scottish Premiership title last weekend.
First Minister Sturgeon told Celtic and Rangers they must continue reinforcing to supporters that they must stay away from Celtic Park on derby day, but did not mention the game at her daily briefing on Wednesday.
The two clubs have pulled out all the stops this week with players and management urging fans to stay away from the huge clash.
Following the united front, the game looks set to imminently be given the go ahead by Holyrood.
The Go Radio Football Show further report that the announcement will come on Wednesday night or early Thursday from the Scottish Government.
