Celtic and Rangers B-Teams to face each other next month in first Old Firm clash outside top flight

The first Old Firm clash of the 2020/21 season will take place next month - in the Lowland League.

Thew comes after the two Glasgow clubs saw their entry to the fifth-tier given a thumbs-up in a one-season agreement following a vote at the league's AGM last month, with B teams from Celtic and Rangers competing in a league structure for the first time.

And the Lowland League have now released their fixtures for the forthcoming campaign, with Rangers colts, who will play their home games at Dumbarton’s C&G Systems Stadium, kicking-off by hosting Bo’ness United on July 17, whilst the Hoops open away to Bonnyrigg Ross before staging their first match at their adopted home of Airdrie’s Penny Cars Stadium four days later against Berwick Rangers.

Glasgow's big two will face each other for the first time when Celtic host their bitter rivals on July 31 - the same day Steven Gerrard 's senior Rangers stars unfurl the Premiership flag at Ibrox in the first match of their Premiership defence against Livingston.

The young Hoops will play their final game of the Lowland League campaign away from home against BSC Glasgow on April 16 2021, whilst the junior Gers will play host to Gala Fairydean Rovers on the same day.
