Celtic and Hearts learn the Scottish Cup Final details as SFA reveal unusual kick-off

Scottish Cup finalists Celtic and Hearts have learned the start time for their long-awaited day with destiny.

The Hampden showpiece is a repeat of the 2019 final some 18 months ago, which Neil Lennon's men won 2-1 thanks to an Odsonne Edouard double.

The coronavirus pandemic delayed the semi-finals until the end of October and the start of November as Hearts downed Edinburgh rivals Hibs 2-1 in extra time before they were joined by Celtic after their 2-0 win over Aberdeen.

Both sides will meet each other in the final five days before Christmas on Sunday, December 20.

But the match will kick off at the unfamiliar time of 2.15pm as the Hoops aim to finally complete their fourth successive treble, while Robbie Neilson's Jambos look to win their fourth Scottish Cup since 1998 and their ninth overall.

The match will be broadcast live on the BBC and Premier Sports.

Meanwhile, Covid-19 testing has been extended to the Betfred Cup second round as part-time teams mix with fully professional outfits.

Some clubs in the Championship and below do not test their players for the virus but have been told they must submit sufficient negative results two days before their game.

Clubs unable to field a full team will be forced to forfeit 3-0, and lots will be drawn if neither club can field a team in any given fixture.
