Celtic add Hatem Abd Elhamed to Champions League squad as Daniel Arzani is axed

Hatem Abd Elhamed will play a part in Celtic's Champions League third qualifying round clash with Cluj after being added to their European squad.

The right back replaces Manchester City loanee Daniel Arzani as the midfielder waits on a return from a serious knee injury.

Arzani picked up the injury in his first and only game for Celtic after appearing as a substitute against Dundee last October.

And he won't play against Cluj as Neil Lennon takes him out of the squad and adds new boy Elhamed.

The defender impressed on his debut and was always likely to be added to the squad ahead of Wednesday night's first leg.

Celtic can still change their squad until Tuesday night when the wildcard deadline is ended.

Kristoffer Ajer isn't officially included in the squad because he meets the requirements to go onto the B list.

FULL SQUAD:

Craig Gordon, Scott Bain, Christopher Jullien, Jack Hendry, Jozo Simunovic, Boli Bolingoli, Hatem Elhamed, Nir Bitton, Scott Brown, Scott Sinclair, Lewis Morgan, Tom Rogic, Olivier Ntcham, Luca Connell, Kieran Tierney, Callum McGregor, James Forrest, Eboue Kouassi, Leigh Griffiths, Odsonne Edouard, Jonny Hayes, Vakoun Issouf Bayo, Ryan Christie, Marian Shved
