David Turnbull marked his Scotland debut with a draw against Netherlands, but reckons they deserved to walk away with a shock victory in their Euro 2020 warm-up clash.
The Wishaw ace earned his first call up for Scotland when he was announced in the squad for the Euros last month and started for Steve Clarke's men in the 2-2 draw in Faro, Portugal.
It was nearly a dream debut for the Celtic midfielder with Scotland leading 2-1 thanks to goals from Jack Hendry and Kevin Nisbet, but a soft free-kick award in the 89th minute was converted by Memphis Depay for his second of the night to deny Scotland a memorable triumph.
Turnbull was delighted to get his first cap, but insisted they were "hard done by."
The ex-Motherwell star told Sky Sports: "We conceded a great free-kick at the end and there's not much that can be done about that.

"I’m not sure if was a foul or not - I’d need to see it back - but I felt we were hard done by."
On his first cap, he said: "I really enjoyed it. It’s a great achievement to finally get that under my belt.
"I felt I could play a good part and I really enjoyed it.
"I tried to do my best and I thought I done that."
Scotland now face Luxembourg on Sunday in their final warm-up game ahead of their big Euro 2020 Group D opener at Hampden on June 14 against Czech Republic.
