Celebs Go Dating viewers give mixed verdicts over 'Love Island twist'

Celebs Go Dating viewers are pretty divided over the new series, The Mansion, with the usual format changed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This year, the celebrities are staying in a huge mansion with a number of potential dates, before going off on romantic outings with the boys and girls individually.

The change to the series, due to social distancing and lockdown measures in place in the UK, has given the show a Love Island and Big Brother feel.

With the stars locked away in a huge house like other reality shows, this matched with people seeking romance has left many feeling as though they're watching a very different show.

The latest episode increased this feeling too, with a twist very familiar to a scene usually featuring on Love Island.

Each male celebrity, including former Love Island star Curtis Pritchard, had to choose a girl they effectively wanted to couple up with.

The boys started giving deep speeches about the girl they'd chosen before revealing their name too.

Something else that didn't go unnoticed was the usual sayings being thrown around, like someone being "a bit of me" amongst other villa phrases.

Taking to Twitter, viewers couldn't help feel that E4 bosses had turned the show into more of a Love Island style series.

Some were loving it, but others were not as fans took to Twitter divided with their thoughts.

Another tweeted: "Not sure on #CelebsGoDating feels like they’re just making it some form of #LoveIsland."

A third agreed: "This isn’t love island Curtis you don’t need this speech."
