Celebrity X Factor star accuses Jeremy Edwards of 'lying' in awkward moment

Jeremy Edwards was left red-faced as a Celebrity X Factor contestant caught him out for lying on the first show of the series.

The actor was welcomed to the stage by judges and introduced himself by saying he is currently on CBBC's children show Millie Inbetween, which he branded the "number one kids show in the country".

Judge Nicole Scherzinger clapped her hands in praise, but the other judges didn't seem to know who he was.

But a clip showed one of the other contestants from YouTube duo Max and Harvey who were watching in the background joke: "I actually do know that's a lie unfortunately, it's Tracy Beaker," as he was surrounded by other contestants looking on.

Brendan and Jeremy were the fourth contestants to perform live fighting for a space to the show's final.

The duo sang a slowed down version of classic Kylie Minogue anthem Love At First Sight, and impressed the judges - particularly Simon Cowell.

He said: "I believe the most important thing is - who do the public want to see through?

"The audience who've watched you Brendan in particular, I don't know you too well," Simon said referring to Jeremy.

The star was reportedly threw a hissy fit over judges not knowing who he was, and stormed backstage in a fury.

As he walked back to the celebrity area and they applauded, he demanded them to stop.

"Don't. I'm serious don't. That was horrible. I don't want fake bulls***," he complained.

And as his pal Brendan remained upbeat about the performance, Jeremy continued moaning to the others.

He said: "They were really mean, that was upsetting.

"You're just like, 'well we're trying, we're off the TV in England and people know us and they love us'.

"It was a bit mean and I don't like people being mean."

He continued: "But 16million people have watched you every week - let's not forget about that."

Jeremy, 48, made his name by playing Kurt Benson in Hollyoaks, Danny O'Shaughnessy in Holby City and Mike Taylor in his current role.
