Celebrity X Factor lands new boyband as Strictly star Brendan Cole pairs with Jeremy Edwards

Former Strictly Come Dancing bad boy, Brendan Cole has reportedly teamed up with Holby City hunk Jeremy Edwards to form a boyband duo for Celebrity X Factor .

The long-term pals are among many celebs who have reportedly signed up to be part of Simon Cowell's revamped version of The X Factor which is due to air in the Autumn.

Cole's move from the BBC to rival ITV may have riled his former bosses after they axed him from Strictly last year for clashing with the show's producers one too many times.

A source close told The Sun : "Initially it started out as a bit of a novelty idea but they're really enjoying it and have started to feel pretty optimistic about making a mark on the show."

It's a bold move from Brendan who has never been one to shy away from controversy.

The source added: "They've already filmed their first scenes, so there's no going back - but Strictly probably won't be too impressed when they find out he has jumped on board with their biggest rival after al those years."

They will competed with other bands including a Love Island supergroup and a team of singing rugby hunks.

The new X Factor show is one of two rebooted versions of the singing series that Simon Cowell has created, along with a Champions edition featuring former contestants in a bid to increase the ever sliding ratings.

Brendan, 43, and Jeremy, 48, are both long-standing stars in their own field, with Cole having served on Strictly for 15 series making him one of the most popular professionals.

Edwards starred in Hollyoaks for four years followed by another four at Holby City.

If their performance on X Factor doesn't see them offered a record deal, it will be amusing to say the least.
