Kate Garraway has revealed she is currently being assessed for a life-changing condition after she finished filming Celebrity Traitors.
The TV anchor, 58, became curious about attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) after a talk with fellow contestant Cat Burns, 25.
The neurodevelopmental disorder is marked by difficulty concentrating, hyperactivity and impulsive behaviour.
Singer Cat has talked candidly about her own experiences after being diagnosed with ADHD in 2021, followed two years later by autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Now, Kate has opened up about her family medical history, which includes both ADHD and autism, and she is in the process of being assessed for ADHD, The Sun on Sunday reports.
She said: "Talking to people like Cat about their music and about their life - she’s autistic and ADHD, and I’ve got that in my family.
"And actually, I’m in the process of an ADHD diagnosis myself. In fact, I think it’s pretty clear I am.
"So it’s fascinating to see how it manifested for her."
Kate admission comes after she was banished by fellow faithfuls on last Thursday’s episode of Celebrity Traitors, just missing out on this week’s grand finale.
During the roundtable discussion, retired English rugby player Joe Marler accused Kate of failing to be her usual shrewd "broadcaster" self and instead being "ditzy".
After hearing Marler's comments, Kate opened up a discussion challenging anyone who thought she may be a traitor and she was soon banished.
The BBC series finished filming at Ardross Castle in the Scottish highlands in May, with the final episode due to air on Thursday, November 6.
In her parting speech, Kate paid tribute to her late husband Derek Draper, who died in January last year after a battle with long Covid, saying he “would’ve absolutely loved” seeing her root out traitors on the show.
She said: “I’ve had a lot of years of being very serious and very sad, and you’ve all allowed me to play the most amazing game, be silly and have fun.”
Over the weekend, Kate revealed which star refused to join the Celebrity Traitors' WhatsApp group chat amid rumours of behind-the-scenes drama.
Just five celebrities remain for the finale, with Alan Carr and Cat Burns as the traitors and surviving faithfuls Nick Mohammed, David Olusoga and Joe Marler, who has been earmarked as a favourite to win.
