Celebrity Traitors' Ruth Codd reveals her second leg has been amputated

Celebrity Traitors star Ruth Codd has revealed her second leg has been amputated.

Codd, 29, shared the update on TikTok, using her trademark humour to make light of the situation.

“Good news - we've had a full circle moment,” the actress told her 205,000 followers.

“I'm back making TikTok content in my parents' house. Bad news - I can't do it in front of that lovely blue floral wallpaper any more, due to the fact that that room is upstairs.

“I've just had my second below-knee amputation. So, unfortunately, those facilities are not available to me at the current moment in time. So a lot to unpack there for everyone involved.”

The Irish actress originally had her first leg amputated after she was involved in an accident while playing football as a teenager.

Codd didn’t elaborate on why she’d had her second leg amputated, but she did show fans a glimpse of her new wheelchair.

“This is my new whip,” she joked.

“I like to call her Fat Tony. She has the top speed of f*** all, especially if there's a step involved.”

Her caption read: “No legs who dis? #paralympics2026.”

In an interview with the Irish Examiner, Codd previously said recovering from the football accident cost years of her life.

“It never healed correctly so until I was 23, I was on and off crutches, getting loads of operations,” she told the newspaper.

“Because of nerve damage and chronic pain, I chose to get it amputated. It took eight years of my life, constantly going in and out of hospital… My whole life revolved around trying to heal my leg.

“For years, I didn’t see it getting any better. I was stuck in a really bad mindset and I was p****d off at life.”

But she said life became more manageable when she decided to have her leg amputated.

“When I made the decision to amputate it, things finally started to turn around,” she added.

“It was a relief. I could get on my life. I was just messing around in school and fell over playing soccer, which is the worst part because I don’t even like soccer.

“At least I could have gone out in blaze of glory doing something that I loved but – no!"
