Celebrity Traitors 2025 live: Follow along as the show crowns its winner

After nine gripping episodes, the Celebrity Traitors season finale has finally aired on BBC One.

The stakes were high. In a tense final showdown, Faithfuls Nick Mohammed, David Olusoga and Joe Marler hoped to snatch victory from the remaining traitors: Alan Carr and Cat Burns.

But could the remaining Faithfuls - who, this season, have been branded the worst ever - catch out the traitors and take the prize money for their chosen charity?

Follow live and find out

Signing off now

22:21 , Vicky Jessop

Well, that’s the first season of Celebrity Traitors over. It’s been a wild ride. Thanks for tuning in! And hopefully see you this time next year for season two...

And some memes

22:15 , Vicky Jessop

Naturally, the internet has been going wild over Alan’s victory. What a night. And here are some of the best memes I can find to illustrate it.

What just happened? Such glorious chaos.

One last nugget of joy for us

22:13 , Vicky Jessop

...which is that the Traitors will be back in 2026. We presume, for the generic garden variety Traitors rather than the celeb version.

Here’s hoping we do get another celeb season, though. This one has been absolutely wonderful. Hats off to the BBC!

22:11 , Vicky Jessop

Things close out with a fireworks display and a toast to Alan.

“To me, the most hated man in Britain,” he says.

The opposite: long live Alan Carr!

Alan gets the money!

22:10 , Vicky Jessop

“Alan Carr, he played an absolute blinder,” Nick Mohammed says, while digesting the fact that he backstabbed his bestie Joe for nothing.

That means Alan will be taking all the money - £87,500 - for Neuroblastoma UK, a children’s cancer charity.

“All that lying, all that treachery, was worth it, wasn’t it?” he says.

“I’m awful at lying, I had no poker face, and now I’m the winner.”

He’s certainly played a blinder. Who’d have thought, all those episodes back, that sweaty Alan would be our Celebrity Traitors champion?

Outside, Joe and Nick hug it out, Nick begs for forgiveness, and all is right with the world.

Time for the reveals

22:06 , Vicky Jessop

David Olusoga finally reveals that he’s a Faithful. Naturally.

Nick Mohammed follows suit. “I am, and always have been, a Faithful,” he says.

And then it’s Alan’s turn. Get ready.

“I am and have always been, a Traitor,” he says with a laugh. The other two can’t seem to decide whether to laugh or cry. Nick Mohammed’s face is an absolute picture.

Clearly, the stress has been getting to Alan, though.

“It’s been tearing me apart, I’m so sorry,” he says, and starts to weep. The other two quickly rush around to hug him.

(BBC)

“You’ve done brilliantly!” Nick says to a distraught Alan. At least they’re gracious in defeat.

“I thought it was almost anybody else,” David Olusoga says afterwards.

What a great ending to what a great season of TV!

WE HAVE OUR WINNER

22:03 , Vicky Jessop

Nick votes to end the game.

And just like that, Alan Carr has won!

The banishments are over?

22:03 , Vicky Jessop

Alan Carr and David Olusoga both vote to end the game.

“I never believed Alan was a Traitor,” David says. A double bluff? Apparently: he believed it was Joe all along.

“I did love the idea of the three of us all being Faithful and ending the game together,” he tells his comrades.

Now it’s up to Nick.

22:00 , Vicky Jessop

“It hurts to be stabbed in the back last minute like that,” Joe Marler tells the camera afterwards. “Not even an inkling. Gutted.”

You and me both. Wow. Nick Mohammed is a purple-suited assassin.

Joe is gone!

22:00 , Vicky Jessop

“You voting for Cat is what sealed it,” Nick tells Joe. “But I love you.”

And just like that, Joe has been banished.

This is pure television!!

The final banishments begin

21:59 , Vicky Jessop

All the contestants vote to banish again, unsurprisingly. The maths stacks up; there’s definitely at least one Traitor still left at the table.

Alan Carr votes for Joe Marler.

Joe Marler votes for Alan Carr.

David Olusoga votes for Joe Marler. What a turn up for the books!!

Nick Mohammed votes for Joe Marler.

The Hundy bromance is over!!!!

The rules of the finale

21:55 , Vicky Jessop

Now, as Claudia says, the game is in the hands of the last four contestants. They can choose to end it at any point, as long as they’re happy there are no Traitors left in the game.

Nick Mohammed (BBC/Studio Lambert/Euan Cherry)

If they think there are, they can choose to continue going through rounds of banishment until they believe all the Traitors have been purged.

It’s a recipe for tension. Who else is betting the game will end with Nick Mohammed and Joe Marler? They’ve come this far, after all.

Any last words from the contestants?

21:53 , Vicky Jessop

Some pearls of wisdom from the final four before they go back to the roundtable.

Joe Marler: “My one true Hundy Faithful is Nick.”

Alan Carr: “I’m a loose cannon now. I’m like a rudderless ship.”

David Olusoga: “I don’t trust anybody.”

Nick Mohammed: “I’m nervous that I might have got it wrong again... there’s a tiny part of me going into the endgame thinking [Joe] is a Traitor.”

Very wise.

Any last words, Cat?

21:48 , Vicky Jessop

Cat heads off into the night, without revealing whether or not she’s a Faithful or a Traitor. Though we know, of course.

“I wouldn’t change a thing,” she tells the camera. “I think I played it the best way I could... I’m proud of myself for keeping up a lie this long.

“I am gutted David’s argument persuaded Joe to go towards me. But he made the right decision. I am a Traitor.”

“That has really thrown a spanner in the works,” Alan Carr adds afterwards. It’s just him, now, feeling “vulnerable” in the final four. Stay strong, Alan!

Time for the first vote!

21:46 , Vicky Jessop

Watch through your fingers, everybody.

Cat Burns votes for David Olusoga.

David Olusoga votes for Cat Burns.

Nick Mohammed votes for Cat Burns.

Alan Carr votes for David Olusoga.

It’s a tie! And Joe Marler is the one to break it. Will he commit and vote for David?

Nope, he changes his mind last minute and votes for Cat. And just like that, another Traitor is banished! It’s all on you now, Alan.

Cat comes under fire

21:43 , Vicky Jessop

Nick Mohammed has finally bitten the bullet and gone for Cat Burns.

“Knowing that Jonathan [Ross] was a Traitor, I do think you would be a really good team player with Jonathan,” he says.

Joe Marler twists the knife further by saying, “you’ve been really quiet the whole way through.”

Cat Burns has made it to the final of The Celebrity Traitors (Cody Burridge/BBC) (PA Media)

Eek. Burns fires back by saying she finds the roundtables overwhelming. And soon enough, Carr swoops into deflect the attention onto David Olusoga for having “the gift of the gab” and avoiding banishment on several occasions.

They’re all being very polite, but the background music is getting tense. And so am I.

Tensions are rising

21:39 , Vicky Jessop

The roundtable is underway, and already the heat is on Alan. People are bringing up several suspicious things that he’s done over the course of the series... but oddly, not the fact that he giggled whilst saying, “I’m a Faithful,” at the end of last episode.

Heat’s also on Joe Marler, for once. Could this be the beginning of the end for the leader of the pack?

A reminder of the new rules

21:37 , Vicky Jessop

In this final roundtable, any banished people will no longer be able to reveal if they are a Faithful or a Traitor. Just in case you didn’t think this whole thing was going to be stressful enough.

Nick Mohammed's suit...

21:36 , Vicky Jessop

... is really rather gorgeous. Plum velvet, plus a bow tie? Somebody give this man the James Bond gig pronto.

Also, a shout out to Alan Carr for his Elton John-esque white rhinestone suit.

The plotting begins

21:33 , Vicky Jessop

Spirits are high in the castle post-challenge, but already the machinations are starting.

“Last night in the turret [Cat and I] made a pinky promise to look after each other and not throw each other under the bus,” Alan Carr says cheerfully.

But Carr’s strategy relies on Joe Marler trusting them both. And guess what, he doesn’t.

(BBC/Studio Lambert/Euan Cherry)

A few minutes later, David Olusoga and Nick Mohammed are discussing the possibility of Alan being a Traitor.

“My presumption is that Cat and probably Alan will vote for me,” David tells the camera. He’s opting to make an alliance with Nick to vote Cat off instead... time will tell if it pays off.

Meanwhile, Joe Marler is planning on throwing David under the bus to lure Alan and Cat into a false sense of security, before pulling the rug out from under their feet. Machinations within machinations.

A win for the team

21:28 , Vicky Jessop

As the train explodes behind them, the team make their getaway with £20,000 in prize pot winnings.

As they rush across the field to Claudia, the train explodes dramatically behind them. It’s like the Great Train Robbery... if the robbers in question were all slightly awkward and sweaty. And wore glasses.

So that’s the BBC’s entire pyrotechnics budget blown for the rest of the year, yeah?

Bum bags at the ready

21:26 , Vicky Jessop

Proving once again why this batch of Faithfuls haven’t been the brightest in the bunch... the challenge gets off to a shaky start as the team struggle to solve their first puzzle.

“It was not a good start for us,” Marler says dolefully. Fortunately, Alan Carr finally manages to figure out the answer and they start cracking on.

There is a bit when the team have to wobble across an open-air carriage, Wild West style. I’ve never seen Alan Carr look so focussed. Until he starts worrying about his bum bag.

“We ain’t got time for your bum bag!” Joe Marler howls in response. Two minutes later, he’s being slammed over the head repeatedly by a crate lid that’s flapping in the wind.

But to be honest, the challenges are always the least exciting part of the show. Where’s a Celia Imrie fart when you need it?

All aboard the Traitors Express

21:19 , Vicky Jessop

The final challenge is here, and it does indeed involve a train. Also, the chance to win £20,000.

According to Claudia, this is The Traitors Express. The contestants will have to find the keys located in each of the train’s carriages, to unlock four boxes containing £5,000 worth of gold.

They also contain explosives, apparently.

“My gosh, Claudia!” Nick Mohammed says. We assume they’re not real.

And not everybody is impressed. “I’ve never seen a steam train before in my life,” Cat Burns says.

“And there’s me thinking it’s going to be like the Orient Express,” Carr deadpans. “But actually it’s going to be more like that film Speed.”

The bromance is still strong

21:16 , Vicky Jessop

There’s still time for a quick pre-final roundtable strategy chat. But only between Joe Marler and Nick Mohammed, the two self-proclaimed “hundred per cent Faithfuls” of this season.

“I’ve been thinking all night how we play this out,” Marler says.

“I voted for Cat, so I think I would vote for Cat in [in the next round table],” Mohammed says.

Marler suspects the Traitors will go for David, and ponders doing the same, but the result will be “sacrificing another Faithful.”

The other option, he ponders, is getting David on side to vote out Cat.

“The only way I’m ending the game is if I’m in the final two with you,” Marler tells Mohammed.

How romantic... but there’s a catch. Mohammed is starting to have suspicions of his Hundie buddy. Could the bromance be about to end?

Claudia is back!

21:14 , Vicky Jessop

Claudia is back. There’s knitwear, obviously, but it’s actually not too outrager: a ruffled white skirt and dark knit jumper. She looks like a goth angel.

There’s time for congratulations, of course, and a hint for the upcoming (last) challenge.

“I lost my train of thought,” she says coyly. Any chance the next mission will involve a train?

Alan Carr has murdered national treasures

21:11 , Vicky Jessop

Alan Carr is next up. “I have worked hard,” he says frankly.

“I started the game a bit of a nervous wreck. I’ve thrown some really good friends under the bus. I’ve murdered national treasures in plain sight. I’m clearly a better liar and a better Traitor than I thought I was.”

Carr has definitely been the MVP of this series: chaos follows in his wake and has provided fodder for many a Traitors meme.

He also has a game plan: “namely, to use my powers of persuasion and not to mess it up.”

Joe Marler, meanwhile “never thought I’d make it past day one, let alone make it to the final.”

He adds that he was intimidated by all the celebs, and look at him now - being the ringleader of the Jonathan Ross hit squad. Apparently, being in the Traitors final is more stressful than playing for England. Hmm.

At the breakfast table one last time

21:09 , Vicky Jessop

Things kick off with some retrospective look-backs from our finalists as they enter the breakfast room for the last time.

“I feel really good,” Nick Mohammed says. “I can’t believe that I am a Faithful and that I have survived to see the final breakfast. It has been the most overwhelming experience.”

And yet, he has managed to dodge almost all scrutiny and not even been murdered.

“Because this is the last day, you have to speak up. My gut is saying that Cat is a Traitor... I really want to win now.”

Who else should come into breakfast next, but Cat.

“I’ve made some real friends in here. I started to feel quite bad having to murder them... me and Alan are doing great together. We are not going to throw each other under the bus.”

Let’s see.

Who will be voted out?

21:04 , Vicky Jessop

Tensions inside the castle seem to be sky-high. As they should; it’s the final, after all. And people have their suspicions.

“I’m pretty sure Cat is a Traitor,” Nick Mohammed says in the recap.

“I think that and Alan are Traitors,” Joe Marler agrees. Will the two ‘Hundies’ finally catch up to our two Traitors. It’s all to play for.

And we're off!

21:03 , Vicky Jessop

Kicking things off: a new trailer for The Night Manager season two. Apparently, it’s coming soon... something to look forward to in the bleak post-Celeb Traitors days.

Some more memes while we wait

20:55 , Vicky Jessop

Are you getting excited? I’m getting excited. Let us celebrate with some of X (or Twitter)’s finest memes.

A moment of praise for Celia Imrie

20:52 , Vicky Jessop

Though she is no longer with us (where the Traitors is concerned, anyway), let us have a brief moment of silence for the national treasure that is Celia Imrie.

The actor stole the show on many occasion with her one liners and talent for farting at inopportune moments. She also confessed to having a crush on Jonathan Ross at one point, and therefore not voting him out.

Who could forget her wailing into a well like a banshee in the name of completing a task? Or passing wind very politely in the middle of an explanation from Claudia, causing the rest of the contestants to break into hysterics?

“I always own up!” she said afterwards. Apparently, the show’s producers offered to cut the scene, but Imrie let them keep it in. What a woman - and what a shame she was brutally murdered by the Traitors. She will be missed.

Traitors has brought the nation together

20:42 , Vicky Jessop

Yes, it’s only a TV show, but as writer Michael Hogan argues, maybe The Celebrity Traitors has actually transcended that label and become that rarest of things: a genuine national phenomenon.

A whopping 15 million of us are expected to tune in tonight, and he’s been unpacking why in his latest thinkpiece.

“Who needs Trump vs Mamdani when we’ve got Big Dogs vs Hundies?” he writes.

“Sure, mistakenly freed prisoners are a scandal but so are celebrity murders in plain sight. And forget the ass hat formerly known as Prince Andrew. We’re more interested in who’ll be crowned king or queen of the castle.

“I’m referring, of course, to The Celebrity Traitors - the blockbuster BBC hit which reaches its killer climax tonight. It might just be a TV show but boy, how we’ve needed it. This glorified game of wink murder has brought the nation together at a time of doom, gloom and hate. After four weeks of welcome respite from the real world, parting from it will indeed be sweet sorrow.

“For services to national morale, host Claudia Winkleman deserves to be upgraded from an MBE to a damehood. Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands should be given listed status and encased in a glass dome to protect it. The sinister cloaked statue, the ropy mannequin heads, those portraits with red crosses on them… Put them all in the British Museum, then let us queue up to take selfies and give thanks.”

Recapping the show so far

20:38 , Vicky Jessop

It’s certainly been a season of twists and turns.

The show started with 19 celebrities (comprising, among others, Stephen Fry, Paloma Faith, Clare Balding and Tom Daley) entering Ardross Castle for the challenge of a lifetime.

Over the last eight episodes, we’ve seen that number winnowed down to only five. Six Faithfuls have been voted off; seven have been murdered.

So far, the Faithfuls’ only success in catching a Traitor was in (finally) voting off Jonathan Ross last week. It took them a while, though, and so far, there are two Traitors in the series finale: Cat Burns and Alan Carr.

The heat’s on Alan, but the pair will be looking to avoid the scrutiny of Faithfuls David Olusoga, Nick Mohammed and Joe Marler to clinch a win. Reminder: all their money, should they do so, will go to their chosen charities.

If you want to refresh your memory in more detail, have a read of our first episode review here. Warning: spoilers, obviously, abound. As do fulsome words of praise for Alan Carr.

We're really being spoiled tonight...

Anybody else watching Celebrity Race Across the World before the Traitors starts proper? The BBC has been on something of a roll this week: at least we have something to tide us over in the cold, bleak days after the Celebrity Traitors finishes (sob).

Celebrity Traitors star 'kicked off'

19:00 , Nuray Bulbul

Celebrity Traitors finalist Nick Mohammed revealed that one contestant “lost it” after the crew took away what he called a “basic human right” on set.

Mohammed, one of the five finalists competing in Thursday’s finale, will face Traitors Cat Burns and Alan Carr as well as fellow Faithfuls Joe Marler and David Olusoga.

The 45-year-old Ted Lasso star explained that production deliberately created a high-pressure atmosphere during filming at the remote Scottish Highlands castle.

He added that contestants were completely cut off from the outside world, had no access to phones, and were even forbidden from knowing the time of day.

What happened on this season of Celebrity Traitors?

17:30 , Nuray Bulbul
(PA Media)

This season took place in Ardross Castle, where celebrities were secretly divided into Faithfuls and Traitors, competing in daily missions to add to a £100,000 charity prize pot.

Key figures included Jonathan Ross, whose dramatic banishment speeches kept tensions high; Celia Imrie, who had memorable humorous moments; Nick Mohammed, a clever player quietly building trust; and Cat Burns, who stayed under the radar strategically.

Traitors eliminated a Faithful each night, while daily votes led to tense banishments, including a rare triple exit. Twists, secret alliances, and betrayals drove the suspense toward the finale, where the remaining contestants’ identities will determine who wins the prize for charity.

The previous civilian season of The Traitors UK was won by Leanne Quigley and Jake Brown, who as Faithfuls shared the prize fund after out‑smarting the Traitors.

Cat Burns: She’s quieter, less flashy, which could help her avoid suspicion and slip under the radar.

Best moments from this season of Celebrity Traitors

Celia Imrie’s unforgettable cabin moment

During a tense challenge in the woods, Celia unexpectedly broke wind mid-scene, prompting a fit of giggles from the cast and host Claudia Winkleman. The moment quickly became a viral highlight of the series.

BBC responds to the leak

15:17 , Nuray Bulbul

The BBC haven’t said much about the final being leaked earlier today.

However, the broadcaster told The Independent: “We kindly ask anyone who thinks they know the outcome of The Celebrity Traitors to keep whatever they believe they know to themselves.”

What does the winner get?

15:04 , Nuray Bulbul

Each day, the contestants take part in missions to add money to the prize pot, which can total up to £100,000 by the end of the competition.

During these challenges, players may also earn a shield that protects them from being “murdered” that night — though it doesn’t grant immunity from banishment.

What will happen in the final?

14:51 , Nuray Bulbul
(BBC)

Tonight’s episode will see the competition heat up as the final five are cut down further. The remaining Faithfuls will do their best to expose the Traitors — but a major twist will make their mission even tougher.

In the grand final, the last celebrities standing will first take on a challenge to boost the prize pot before heading back to the castle for another tense banishment.

Just like in the most recent civilian season, those banished in the final round won’t reveal whether they were Faithful or Traitor. This secrecy makes it far more difficult for the Faithfuls to gauge their progress, as they won’t know exactly how many Traitors have been eliminated.

After the banishment, the group will vote on whether to bring the game to an end. If even one person decides to continue, another banishment will occur — and this cycle will repeat until everyone agrees to stop.

Finally, the remaining players will reveal their true identities. If all of them are Faithful, they’ll share the prize fund among their chosen charities. But if a Traitor is still in the mix, they’ll claim the entire amount for their charity. Should more than one Traitor remain, they’ll split the winnings between themselves.
