Celebrity SAS: Who Dare Wins 2021 line-up confirmed with Kerry Katona and Ulrika Jonsson

The 2021 line-up for Celebrity SAS: Who Dare Wins has been revealed and it's set to be a corker of a series this year.

The likes of Kerry Katona, Ulrika Jonsson and Vicky Pattison will all ditch their glamorous lifestyles and head into the wilds of the Scottish Hebrides in the remote island of Raasay.

Joining Kerry, Ulrika and Vicky on one of the toughest selection courses yet will be television presenters Saira Khan and Ore Odub and former footballer Kieron Dyer.

Former X Factor stars Jake Quickenden and Alexandra Burke will also be put through their paces alongside Olympic Gold medallist James Cracknell.

The 2021 line-up is completed by Paralympic athlete Aled Davies, former Love Island star Wes Nelson and BMX and track world champion Shanaze Reade.

Over eight days, the 12 celebrities will be put through a series of gruelling tasks and interrogations that will test them both physically and mentally.

Each will confront surprising truths about themselves, to discover their true self but not everyone will have what it takes to make it to the end of this unique version of SAS selection.

Putting them through this condensed SAS selection course is the elite team of ex-special forces soldiers - Chief Instructor, Ant Middleton and his team of Directing Staff (DS), Foxy, Billy, Melvyn and Staz.

But the DS don’t care how famous the recruits are, how many social media followers they have, or what they have done before this because as soon as they enter the selection process, their celebrity status and luxuries are stripped away.

Speaking about the experience, which was filmed in October 2020, Kerry said: "This was a once in a lifetime opportunity…I never thought I’d learn so much about myself."

Former Geordie Shore star Vicky added: "Being a big fan of the show I wanted to push myself to get out of my comfort zone and to do something completely new. Nothing can prepare you for it, and it was an experience I'll never forget."

Ulrika, 54, admitted: “I felt it had a profoundly positive effect on me," while Jake said: "It was the best experience. I’ll never forget it."

The confirmation of the 2021 line-up comes after it was claimed that show bosses are struggling to replace former star Ant Middleton, who was dropped from the show in March.

A source told The Sun: "Bosses really wanted this first series without Ant to go with a bang with an amazing new location, like an African desert.

"They’re struggling to replace Ant. They can’t bring in a complete novice."

The source added that Covid is hampering the series' options and they do not want to film in Scotland again.

Bosses are reported to have considered a star from the US show joining to replace Ant but travel issues are also disrupting this.

They added: "Everyone wants answers but emails are being ignored and it’s frustrating everyone on the show."

When approached by The Mirror regarding this story, Channel 4 commented: "We are still in the early stages of planning the next series of SAS: Who Dares Wins, so it is too early to confirm the details.

"Lots of options are being considered but it is shaping up to be another spectacular but brutal series. As with all Channel 4 productions, strict Covid guidelines will be followed."

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins returns to Channel 4 on Sunday 29 August at 9pm.
