Celebrity MasterChef viewers raging as Channel 5 News leaks winner

Fans of Celebrity MasterChef were furious as a Channel 5 News bulletin leaked the winner of the show before the Christmas special episode aired.

In the first Christmas episode, airing tonight, contestants included Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Oti Mabuse, Loose Women panellist Judi Love, reality star Joey Essex, former professional footballer Neil Ruddock and star Su Pollard.

But the show was ruined before viewers even had a chance to start watching as Channel 5 News shared a spoiler minutes before it was due to air.

A tweet shared from the Channel 5 News account said: "We would like to say sorry for mistakenly announcing the winner of BBC1's Celebrity Masterchef before it was revealed on the programme tonight. Apologies to all fans of the show and congratulations Judi Love on a fantastic win."

Viewers were fuming and shared their annoyance on social media.

Sheryl said: "@channel5_tv well done for ruining Celebrity Masterchef by announcing the winner on the 8pm news highlight, before the 2 part programme had even started tonight. #SpoilerAlert."

Rezie said: "@channel5_tv thanks for telling us who won celebrity master-chef cook off... before the programme has aired...."

Heidi said: "As if Channel 5 News just announced the #CelebrityMasterChef winner, 2 minutes before the programme started! Thanks for the spoiler bud."

Ean said: "@channel5_tv you absolute pillocks for announcing #CelebrityMasterChef result before it’s been broadcast #celebrityleaked."

While Jamie joked: "After @channel5_tv announced the celebrity masterchef winner before it started just wondering if they can tell me tomorrows football results as well….. and maybe the winning lottery numbers."

Episode two, which airs Wednesday night, will see Gemma Collins, Joe Swash, Les Dennis, Mica Paris, and Rev Richard Coles take on the Christmas challenge.
