Celebrity MasterChef trailer sees Katie Price grimace as stars cook up endless innuendo

This year’s Celebrity MasterChef is shaping up to be a bit fruity - if the latest trailer is anything to go by.

The much-loved BBC cooking competition is returning to TV screens later this summer with John Torode and Gregg Wallace judging a host of famous faces.

In a 30-second teaser clip for the new series, which was released today, some of the celebs in the 2021 line-up struggle to contain their giggles from the constant innuendo.

But former glamour model Jordan, better known these days as Katie Price, looks less than impressed as the camera cuts to her grimacing at one of the jokes.

The clip begins with former Hi-de-Hi! star Su Pollard singing I’m So Excited by The Pointer Sisters.

Happy Mondays star Bez then kicks the chat off by saying “twisting me melons” in reference to the band’s lyrics in hit song Step On.

TV and radio host Mel Sykes tries not to laugh but can’t keep it in as the cameras zoom in on her chuckling.

Judge Gregg Wallace is also seen slapping his head in disbelief as the innuendos keep coming.

Ex Celebrity Big Brother winner Katie is next to appear on screen wearing a dirty apron, but at this stage it’s unclear what she is cooking.

Instead of joining in with the fun, the 42-year-old - who is set to tie the knot for a fourth time with car dealer Carl Woods - pulls a face when the camera pans to her.

Katie almost got herself in hot water before the show has even aired when she appeared to hint she does pretty well in the cooking stakes.

In an interview with OK! Magazine, the mum-of-five said: "I’m not allowed to let any secrets out but, put it this way, I do better than just OK!"

Her representative later told the Mirror she hadn’t done anything wrong, adding: “She hasn't given anything away.

“Katie is in no risk of angering the MasterChef team. She had an amazing time - Katie would certainly go back for seconds.”

Other cheeky stars appearing on this year’s show include former EastEnders actor and TV presenter Joe Swash.

He is spotted asking the judges: “Are you disappointed by my dumplings?" but viewers are yet to see what Joe’s food really looks like.

The celebrity series will last for six weeks when it airs on BBC One, including four weeks of heats before the semi-finals and finals.

Big names competing in Celebrity MasterChef 2021 include Duncan James from boy band Blue, singer and former TOWIE star Megan McKenna, EastEnders actresses Rita Simons and Michelle Collins and Loose Women star Penny Lancaster.

Love Island ’s Kem Cetinay, Strictly's Johannes Radebe, comedians Nabil Abdulrashid and Munya Chawawa, The Repair Shop's Will Kirk and Patrick Grant, from the The Great British Sewing Bee also star.
