The heat is on, the aprons have been assigned, the puns are in the oven … Yes, it’s nearly time to find out which of the 20 celebs with marginal cooking skills will be following in the steps of last year’s Celebrity MasterChef champion Sophie Thompson.
As usual, Gregg Wallace and John Torode will be in charge as the celebs face the invention test, the relay invention test, a mass-catering challenge, a two-course meal for guest judges – past Celebrity MasterChef including 2013 winner Ade Edmondson, 2014 finalist Wayne Sleep, semi-finalist Christopher Biggins, and 2014 reigning champion Sophie Thompson – and that round where they try not to muck things up for actual paying customers in a professional restaurant kitchen.
Previous winners include Emma Kennedy, Phil Vickery, Lisa Faulkner, Jayne Middlemiss, Liz McClarnon, Nadia Sawalha and Matt Dawson.
