Celebrity line-up revealed for The Weakest Link NYE special

The longest ever running television quiz show The Weakest Link will return to our screens once again this evening for a celebratory New Year's Eve special.

Comedian Romesh Ranganathan will take over from Anne Robinson's legendary quiz-master role following his debut in the role last week.

Discussing his NYE plans, the 43-year-old deadpan comic admitted: "It’s an honour to be asked to bring back what is basically a TV institution to our screens.

"Anne was an amazing host and to step into her shoes is an anxiety-inducing privilege. I’m hoping we’ve found a way to make both the fans of the show happy as well as bringing a new audience to it."

The knowledge competition will see celebrity contestants attempt to bank as much money as possibly by showing off their general knowledge - the more correct answers in a row, the more cash they'll bag for charity at the end of the show, however...

The end of each round will see players each individually voting-off the teammates that they believe are 'the weakest link', with the quizzer with the most votes being eliminated.

But who is set to take part in tonight's New Year's Eve celebrity special?

Dave Gorman - Comedian and TV presenter

Esme Young - Judge of The Great British Sewing Bee

Patrick Grant - Fashion Designer and (the other) Judge of The Great British Sewing Bee

Candice Brown - Winner of The Great British Bake Off, author and teacher

Reverend Richard Coles - Musician, presenter and Church of England parish priest

Reverend Richard Coles (LD Communications)

The Vivienne - Drag queen and winner of RuPaul's Drag Race UK

Karim Zeroual - Actor and presenter

Karim Zeroual (BBC / Steve Farrell)

Kaz Kamwi - Former Love Island star and social media influencer

The Weakest Link airs on BBC One at 6:25pm tonight (31 December) and will be available on BBC iPlayer.

The quiz series continues nightly all this week.
