Celebrity Juice axed by ITV as Keith Lemon sends message to fans

Celebrity Juice has been axed by ITV with Leeds star Keith Lemon sending a message to fans thanking them for their support over the 14 years it was on air.

Keith shared a video of classic moments from the show, which ran on ITV for 14 years and had a host of celebrity captains over the years, on Twitter with his message.

He said: "After 14 years, 26 series, 300 eps @CelebJuice is concluding later this year with two farewell specials.

"Thank you so so much to everyone who watched, to the team captains, guests, crew and itv2. It was the longest most fun party! I had a wonderful time. Big love x"

Fans immediately responded saying it will be missed and it is the end of an era.

One posted: "A bonkers but brilliant show, I've seen things on there I never thought I would! How the team came up with some of the ideas is beyond me. Thank you for the laughs. x"

"I feel shame that Celebrity Juice is about to end. It really is the end of an era. Thank you for the millions of laughs you gave us for the last 14 years," one user said.

Another added: "I’m absolutely gutted this is ending. But what a great run it’s had, Will definitely miss that on Thursday nights after the final 2 specials that air.

The news comes just months after Channel 4 axed Keith's The Fantastical Factory of Curious Craft.

Celebrity Juice was first broadcast in 2008 with Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughby as team captains.

The show centred on the week's tabloid news stories and eventually involved games and challenges.

Paddy McGuinness took over Fearne's place after a long while before Leeds singer Mel B took his spot.

This Morning presenter Holly announced two years ago that she was leaving the show after 12 years.

Several months later, Emily Atack and Laura Whitmore were announced as the new captains.
