Celebrity Juice audience sent home during filming following Boris Johnson's speech

The Celebrity Juice audience was dramatically sent home during recording following the Prime Minister’s press conference last night,

Immediately after the British leader Boris Johnson urged all citizens to stop non-essential travel, TV bosses ordered the audience to leave the studios.

The celebrity stars then continued with filming an alternative show where they looked at the best bits of Celebrity Juice.

According to the hilarious host Keith Lemon, two audience members stayed whilst the rest were sent packing.

Funnyman Keith was then forced to then apologise to his loyal fans dressed as Barry Gibb from the BeeGees.

As the comedian walked around the near-empty studio, he said sorry to the guests who came and then admitted ‘it was weird without an audience’.

“If I don’t see you through the week I’ll see you through the window,” Keith then told his 1.6 million Instagram followers, in a nod to a famous eighties catchphrase.

On a final note he injected a comedy slant to the ongoing pandemic and begged fans to stop stockpiling unnecessarily.

“Don’t feel compelled to buy toilet paper because they make it here - it’s not imported so it’s a waste of time,” he joked.

Keith was meant to be joined by comedian Joel Dommet on yesterday’s recording, who also took to social media to speak about the surreal experience whilst dressed as Billie Eilish.

“What a weird evening - went to record @celebjuiceofficial - then the audience were told to go home after Boris’ speech.

“Having serious logistic based conversations while dressed as @billieeilish was one of the strangest things I’ve ever been involved in. Stay safe everyone - keep washing your bits,” he wrote on Instagram.

Paddy McGuinness, dressed as Geri from the Spice Girls also expressed his surprise that the show was dramatically cancelled.

"Well that escalated quickly. We were all set to record @celebjuiceofficial audience in and then we hear Boris Johnson’s speech and that was that! Audience out, show cancelled...for now!!!!

"Still I got to spend a bit of time with my boy @keithlemon. Stay safe, keep an eye out for the elderly and wash them hands!!!" he said.

ITV’s Celebrity Juice cancellation follows a series of recordings - such as Peaky Blinders and Line Of Duty - that have also been put on hold across several TV channels.

The Prime Minister held a live press conference on March 16 where he shifted his stance on coronavirus advice.

During the speech he urged all staff to work from home, over 70s to avoid contact and told Brits to avoid pubs and social gatherings.
